For the second year in a row, Insight Homes has won the Department of Energy's Most Certified Homes in the Year Award.

Each year the Department of Energy recognizes forward-thinking builders across the United States for their commitment to building zero energy-ready homes. These builders were acknowledged at the 2021 Housing Innovation Awards across 9 categories. Out of 29 winning builders, Insight Homes took home the award for Most Certified Zero Energy Ready Homes in the United States. In addition to this admirable award, Insight Homes was the only builder in the state of Delaware to be recognized by the Department of Energy consecutively for the past 4 years.

In order to qualify for these awards, homes must be certified as zero energy ready by a third-party verifier in compliance with national program requirements. “Zero Energy Ready Homes are built to a higher standard of efficiency, health, and durability, all designed to provide a superior homeowner experience” as stated on the DOE website. This is the expectation of every Insight Home which makes the honor of having the most certified homes in 2021 a great achievement.

To date Insight Homes has built a total of 588 zero energy ready certified homes throughout southern Delaware. With every house that is built, Insight Homes has the same commitment to energy efficiency, a healthy living environment, and improved durability.

Rob Elliott, president of Insight Homes, says “Building a home to meet the Department of Energy ZERH requirements is a challenge in itself, however, building more than any other builder in the country takes things to a whole other level. I could not be more proud of our entire team's continuous dedication towards building a better house."
