Dog Friendly Delaware

Whether you are considering retiring to Delaware, weekend get-away, or even a day trip, you do not have to leave your four-legged family members home. From Lewes to Fenwick Island, one can bring Fluffy to the beaches, restaurants, and hotels. There are even events just for our fur babies!

The Beaches – Coastal Delaware has three State Parks (Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Fenwick Island) with over 25 miles of beautiful beaches for Spot to explore, with some restrictions. We recommend you check the specifics to the parks. For example, in Lewes it’s year round, but during the summer months it is restricted to from 8 am – 6 pm. Don’t freight…Lewes Unleashed Dog Park is coming August 17, 2016! Can I get a Woof Woof?

The Restaurants – Now not everyone likes when Barney is begging at the table; however for our more table mannered pets, some of the outside dining restaurants will welcome Princess. Water bowls and treats can be found at Irish Eyes in Lewes, Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats in Rehoboth, and Sharkey’s Grillin Dewey.

The Hotels – Not ready to head home, no problem! There are many, many pet friendly accommodations ranging from Lewes to Fenwick Island. There are some size restrictions and fees, we recommend you call ahead. You can slumber away with Buddy at you feet at Red Mill Innin Lewes, The Breakers in Rehoboth, Atlantic Oceanside in Dewey and The Sands Motel in Fenwick ~ Just to name a few.

WAIT!! There’s MORE for our furry friends! They get their own Events!! Yes, in Delaware we celebrate man’s best friend. Now don’t get us wrong, it’s a lot of fun for the pet owners too. In April its Springtime for the Greyhounds, In October Bark on the Boards Dog Walk, and also in October the Sea witch Pet Parade!

You know, you just might want to consider moving here. Insight Homes has that covered too. How about Delaware’s Award Winning Home in one of the premier communities in Sussex County? Did I mention it has its very own dog park? Can I get another Woof Woof!
