Hello! My name is Ginger Yocus. I am a Community Sales Manager for Insight Homes. I can be found in the Whatley Model in the Community of Springtown Farms, in Milton, Delaware. I have been in this Community for a little over a year and just love it! I consider myself a hostess to anyone that visits. During the summer months, if you stop by to look at an Insight home, you can expect to have hot dogs and homemade potato salad. Occasionally, I even give away fresh local corn. To me, it’s about leaving a lasting impression. The quality of our homes, undoubtedly leaves an impression, and I just like taking it a step further!
This time of year is my favorite. As the season changes, the traffic lessens, the beaches are gorgeous and parking is plentiful. And there will be “SOUP FOR YOU!” Every weekend through October, I feature a homemade soup that I bring into the office for our clients to enjoy when they come to look at an Insight home.. My first weekend favorite is Butternut Squash and Pear. I sometimes, as I call it, Frankenstein the recipes. Just pulling ingredients from a couple of recipes into one powerhouse dish.
Our customers are sometimes driving 2 to 3 hours to visit our models so I just love the smile on their faces when I offer them lunch. Last week, I had a customer purposely come back to thank me for lunch. She said, “it was like you just knew we were hungry, it made for such a pleasurable visit. Great soup and a fantastic builder.” Now that’s the perfect combination! A true recipe for success.
Looking for the recipe? I’ve got you covered. (Please note: I did use one apple, but added 2 ripe pears.) I hope you enjoy this warm soup as much as some of our other clients did- happy cooking!
